Going Global, Vol. 01
An ergonomic chair travels from a factory in China to a home office in North America. Along the way there is a puzzle to solve every day: what goes into a 40-foot container, how full it should be, and which route it should take.
With nine fulfillment scenarios (Amazon direct shipping, overseas-warehouse transfers, direct B2B trade shipments, forward stocking for marketplaces and more), this is no longer simple arithmetic.
So BestQi has signed with Deep Insights to build a global TMS + TOS logistics hub covering North America, Europe and Japan. BestQi designs, develops, sells and services products for the home, office and home theater, and is a market leader in ergonomic and smart-home products.
Products shaped to every inch of the body. Logistics that uses every cubic meter of the container.
In this partnership, the TMS (transport management system) keeps the whole chain running smoothly, and the TOS (transport optimization system) works out each step precisely.
Loading: an engine plans the containers
Optimized container planning supports full-container, loose-cargo and mixed-load strategies. It combines loads automatically and raises container utilization and load rates.
Customs: compliance checked before shipping
An HS code database, a trade-rules library and Importer of Record (IOR) management are applied up front. Compliance checks are automated, and risk alerts come before the goods move.
Costs: every charge accounted for
An automatic rating engine, cost allocation across multiple dimensions and smart reconciliation keep costs accurate from estimate to final settlement.
Tracking: full visibility end to end
Pickup, ocean and on-carriage status are shown on one screen, with automatic exception alerts.
The system will also integrate closely with ERP, SRM, OMS and OA, connecting data, operations and approvals in one go.
When BestQi's next shipment leaves the factory dock, its space booking, tariffs, costs and route will already be laid out on a single screen.
